Dear Ladies,
Greetings and congratulations to all our members of the diplomatic corps on the commemoration of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, 2022.
International Women’s Day celebrations have become a standing occasion for the celebration of hard work, resilience, patience and achievement of women; both the working class and those at home. It is a day to acknowledge the vigorous battle for equality, peace, justice, progress and empowerment of women and to showcase respect, appreciation, love and care towards all women for their enormous contribution to societal growth.
International Women’s Day is celebrated across the world to pay honour to these great women of the society. International Women’s Day is all about valuing oneself as a woman and realising one’s full potential.
Today’s woman is no longer a timid, reserved, dependent individual; rather she is independent, fearless, innovative and self-reliant in every respect, capable of managing her own affairs. Empowering women is very necessary for the promotion of gender equality. Societies flourish well where women are given equal respect and are not taken for granted. Global Association of Women in Leadership gives utmost importance to gender equality and female empowerment.
As we congratulate all female diplomats on this special occasion, we urge all members to summon the fortitude to overcome obstacles encountered in all spheres of life, in order to achieve significant progress in their careers and personal lives. We urge all leading female diplomats to use their voices and positions to make positive impacts in the lives of women around the world. As Malaya Yousafzai, Pakistan Activist for Female Education and Nobel Prize Laureate once said “I raise up my voice-not so I can shout but so that those without a voice can be heard…we cannot succeed when half of us are held back”.
Let’s recognise the importance of our existence, encourage our governments through positive policy formulation in favour of the protection of the rights of women, female empowerment, promotion of female education, the encouragement and support for women to accede to leadership positions and to motivate one another for higher future achievements, for the benefit of womanhood and all mankind.
Thank You!!!
Signed
